Lafayette, La ahead

Our trip down to Lafayette was uneventful which is just the way we like it.  It was a pretty short day of about 160miles.  We arrived at our RV park at about 12:30pm.  Stephanie had called ahead to a Petco and got reservations for our dogs for bathes and haircuts.  We unhooked from the truck and setup the trailer as fast as we could and put the cat in the house and took off for Petco.  After dropping them off we decided to go for a drive around Lafayette.  We have developed this habit of just driving around until we are lost and then entering some important landmark into the GPS to find ourselves.  This time the important landmark we entered was Walmart.  Sometimes it feels like we are just on a quest to see as many Walmarts as we can while crossing the country.  After picking up a few things we needed we decided it was time to eat.  Stephanie found a restaurant named Prejean's which she wanted to try.  So once again, we entered the address in the GPS and started driving.  From outside it just appeared as another chain restaurant but it was very Cajun bayou inside.
From the Prejean's website, better pictures than we could take
Stephanie ordered an eggplant dish covered with a sort of gravy with shrimp and crawdad tails and I got the blackened catfish with crawdad etouffe.
Finally a picture BEFORE we dug in
Both dishes were very good but the meal was sort of rushed since we were told to pickup the dogs from their haircuts by 5:30pm.

We got back to Petco at 5:20pm and they had not even started the haircut on Cara yet so we just milled around and waited.  They finally finished our dogs and we left around 7:00pm and headed back to the trailer for a nights rest.

On Monday we were going to finally go to Hobby Lobby so Stephanie could look at some crocheting patterns.  Bill opted to go wash the truck while Stephanie was in Hobby Lobby.  We met back up about 2 hours later and came back to the trailer for an afternoon of chores and rest.  Tomorrow we leave for our new campground at a place called Fontainebleu State Park located on the North shore of Lake Pontchartrain.  We will have a lot of things to do while there including visiting New Orleans.
